2005-09-30 [Rhammin]: well, bad news......my rabbit died on the 27th, which was also my sister's birhtday. we think that he died of a heart attack because he wasn't old enough to die of natural cause. but the other bunny is safe and sound. there is a silver lining though, since my rabbit died before we thought it would, i get to have a pet duck named Koyomi.

2006-01-01 [~Vash~]: For whatever the reason may be for the root cause of it's condition, the rabbit gradually stops eating and drinking. It begins to produce small, discoloured, or no pellets at all. If you ever notice any of these symptoms, contact your vet IMMEDIATELY. The rabbit can be very vicarious and happy for about the first 3 or 4 days, but after that, it becomes critical. What happens is this; the dry blockage causes the system to withdraw more and more water from the body in order to rehydrate it and get it moving along, and the rabbit, not eating or drinking, doesn't replinish this water. So the GIT slowly shuts down.

2006-01-01 [~Vash~]: Rabbits normally won't eat pellets when they're ill anyway. Gerber baby foods like mushed peas and carrots are also good to give your bunny. If caught early on, the rabbit may be able to ingest these things on its own. But if your rabbit doesn't ingest it on its own, you need to force-feed it with a syrringe. >.< I had to do this. Trust me; it's very tough having to hold your bunny down and pour something down its throat. But you HAVE to, or your rabbit -will- die. =3 Just thought I'd clue you guys in. xD Whoo that was a long post!
